Instructions
Step 1: Boil the pasta
Bring a large pot of generously salted water to a rapid boil and add the penne. Cook the pasta until perfectly al dente—tender with a slight chew—following the package timing, then drain thoroughly and set the pasta aside to rest briefly so it sheds excess surface water but stays warm and slightly tacky for the sauce to cling to.
